Peterborough Lift Lock Billed as the world's highest hydraulic lift lock, this engineering wonder is essential to the Trent-Severn Waterways pleasure boat traffic. Working as a water elevator, the lift lock heaves the equivalent of two football fields full of water up and down, thus join two water paths.
