Tempt your taste buds with the most delicious event of the year. The entire family can take part in hands-on crafts and games including an apple craft, sack races, tug-o-war and of course, bobbing for apples. Take a ride through the historic village on a horse drawn wagon and stop by the Cider Barn to try your hand at cider pressing. Savour mulled apple cider, freshly baked Apple Brown Betty, sweet apple tarts and ham and savoury on a bun. Freshly pressed cider and sweet, juicy apples as well as Empire cheese curd will also be available for sale. Musical guests: Gopher Baroque and Kirby & Yates.

The village transforms itself into a haunted haven for ghosts and ghouls! Witches and vampires, bats and spiders, they're all coming out to give you a frightfully good time! Dress in costume if you like and be prepared to enjoy ghastly treats, Halloween games and contests, crafts, wagon rides, a magic show, face painting and palm reading. This has become one of the most popular Halloween events in the region for families with young children. Lots of fun for monsters of all ages!

TBA This has become one of the largest shows in the Kawarthas with cars of every make and model from 1900 to present expected to arrive. Visitors and entrants have the chance to vote on their favourite cars with over 50 trophies available to be won. The first 200 cars that enter will receive dash plaques. Participant registration runs from 8 a.m. to 12:00 noon with a $7 registration fee that includes admission into the village.
Guests can rock and roll to the musical stylings of the Janet Jeffries Soul Band or climb on board for a free horse drawn wagon ride through the village. Throughout the afternoon, the village will be filled with a variety of traditional demonstrations including redwork embroidery, quilting, blacksmithing and carpentry. Children of all ages can try carding wool to make a fleece mouse or stop by the Schoolhouse to make a souvenir craft to take home as a memento of your day.

TBA A festival for paupers or princes, the Peterborough Summer Festival of Lights is free for everyone. Events are staged at Del Crary Park, on Little Lake in downtown Peterborough every Wednesday and Saturday evening. From late June to August, plop a lawn chair on the grass and listen to one of the concerts performed by renown rock, folk, country or blues artists. Later, turn to the lovely illuminated boat parade or become transfixed on the fireworks display. Join the thousands each summer at this annual celebration.

TBA The Festival of Lights is a free outdoor concert series that attracts great performers of all genres. The 2008 lineup includes Murray McLaughlin, Kaylen Porter, Glass Tiger, Michael Burgess, Sweet, Matt Dusk, among many others. The concerts are located in Del Crary Park, Peterborough, Ontario, which is beside the Peterborough Marina.

Registration is $65 for a week long, half-day program, and $55 for a four-day, half-day program. There is a reduction of $5 for each subsequent child registered at the same time.

TBA Behold two days of dancing, contests and presentations as several North American Indian tribes come together each year in September. Observe the traditional and modern songs and dances that tell of religious, war or social topics. While at the Pow Wow, tour the Whetung Ojibwa Centre art and crafts gallery.
